The eagle has landed!

The expansion of the terminal at Graz Airport has been completed according to schedule and the airport took a giant step into the future.

Graz, Nov. 30, 2005: “We have done it!” says Mag. Gerhard Widmann, Managing Director of Graz Airport happily. “For nearly two and a half years, the construction site that the terminal was, determined our daily life. Now we can offer our passengers a modern, well-structured and service-oriented terminal!”

Graz Airport now boasts an open, light-flooded hall that excels with clear structures. Old and new parts of the building have been merged to form an interesting architectural entity that is captivating and impressive by its form alone,
This terminal, which will handle up to 1.5 million passengers per year (the airport counted nearly 900,000 passengers last year), has been built for the future.

“We are very proud of our airport”, say the two board members Mag. Dr. Wolfgang Messner and DI Wolfgang Malik of Grazer Stadtwerke AG, the owner of Graz Airport since December 2004.  “The building that has been created is not only customer-oriented and aesthetic; this building is THE step into the future – for the future."
