airberlin optimises flight times from Graz to Berlin

A night-stop in Graz enables better connections.

Feldkirchen/Graz, 16/02/2016: As of 13 April 2016, the service between Graz and Berlin gets a further boost. With airberlin stationing a 76-seat Dash Q400, flight times will be optimised for passengers at Graz Airport.

“With the optimised flight times for our flights between Graz and Berlin we offer passengers travelling from Graz an even wider range of services. This allows us to run daily flights to destinations such as Abu Dhabi or Chicago with just one stop. All in all, there are as many as thirty connections for this early-morning flight via Berlin. Business travellers to Berlin will also benefit from the new flight times”, says Stefan Pichler, CEO of airberlin.

As of 13 April, airberlin departs from Graz at 06:10 from Monday to Saturday, landing in Berlin at 07:35. Another flight leaves Graz at 14:50 seven times a week. The return flight from Berlin to Graz is at 12:50 daily, with another, six days a week, at 21:25, arriving in Graz at 22:55.

There are also better connections, for example, for flights to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg or Helsinki. The new flight times can also be used to connect with the daily airberlin long-haul flights to Chicago, New York (JFK) or Abu Dhabi. Short or day trips to Berlin will also be more attractive thanks to the longer time between flights there and back.

“International connections are crucial for Styria as a business location and tourist destination. Any additional connection from and to Graz strengthens the location, which is why I really welcome the new attractive off-peak service”, says Provincial Councillor Dr. Christian Buchmann.

“The German capital is increasingly becoming a hub of international aviation and airberlin is a powerful partner, above all for business customers. I am therefore pleased that we now have a daily connection to the world via Berlin, too, at convenient off-peak times”, says Mayor Siegfried Nagl.

City Councillor Dr. Gerhard Rüsch: “We are delighted about the new flight schedule and the improved connections via Berlin. This will be a great boon to tourism, and above all to business. As a City of Design in the Unesco Creative Cities Network, this facilitates exchange with our network partner Berlin, thus giving Graz another locational advantage.”

Chairman of the Board of Holding Graz, Wolfgang Malik: “As of now, these off-peak connections bring passengers flying from Graz and the Styrian business world around 200 connections from Berlin.”

“By stationing a plane here, airberlin is enhancing the attractiveness of Graz Airport. The convenient off-peak times, the wide range of connection options above all to northern Europe, and the new long-haul flights are a great service for business travellers and holiday travellers alike”, Gerhard Widmann, Managing Director of Graz Airport, explains.

For almost five years now, the airberlin group has been connecting GRAZ with the German capital Berlin, and many passengers (both incoming and outgoing) have already come to appreciate the fast connection.
