Tour operators, airlines and Graz Airport have a varied range of many interesting destinations on offer in the summer months of 2010, despite the decline suffered by the travel industry last year.
“After a difficult year for the travel industry, there is, of course, always the risk that tour operators and airlines cut back on their services”, says Gerhard Widmann, CEO of Graz Airport. “We are highly pleased that this is not the case in Graz; we are again able to offer some 60 destinations to our passengers this year.”
What’s new:1) Shannon
In cooperation with NIKI, tour operator BLAGUSS offers flights to Shannon in Ireland between the end of May and early September. Holiday-makers can choose from several holiday variants, such as flight-only, round trips through Ireland by bus, or houseboat trips.
2) Sharm el Sheikh with ETI and NIKI
After this destination has been on offer for quite some time as a “triangle” flight, Sharm el Sheik on the Red Sea can now be reached directly from Graz thanks to tour operator ETI.
3) Berlin with Air Berlin
On 1 May, Air Berlin started its direct flights from Graz to Berlin/Tegel. There are five flights a week (daily, with the exception of Tuesday and Thursday). Tegel is one of the major transit airports, so that destinations such as Paris, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and many more can be quickly and conveniently reached from Graz.
4) Cologne/Bonn with Welcome Air
When the summer schedule came into force, Welcome Air took over the Cologne/Bonn destination from Air Berlin. Flights from Graz are on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
5) 5 times per week to London/Stansted
Ryanair increased the number of flights from Graz to London/Stansted – with flights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Other important facts and figures:
6 times a week to Palma de Mallorca, and from there to nearly 20 destinations in Spain and Portugal.
During the summer months, NIKI offers six flights per week from Graz to Palma de Mallorca; on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
From Graz into the wide world:
Lufthansa and the AUA Group offer up to 13 flights per day to the major hubs of Vienna, Frankfurt and Munich.
