A Lasting Relationship: Airest and Graz Airport

Airest wins the catering tender and will contribute to shaping the future of Graz Airport.

Feldkirchen bei Graz, 20 Nov. 2014: Airest Gastronomy & Retail GmbH has won the catering services license tender and will continue to be host for a major slice of the Graz Airport catering establishments in future. The contract has just been signed and will enter into force in January 2015.

Heading into the future with new catering concepts and impetus

The services of Airest at Graz Airport are outstanding for their well-balanced mix of offers: from the à-la-carte restaurant on the first floor of the departure terminal and a café-bistro on the ground floor of the public area to the café behind the security check. This café will see some innovations at the beginning of 2015: A new mixed catering/shop concept will in future make the time waiting for departure much more pleasant and add to the airport's appeal.
The overhauling and part refurbishing of all restaurants and cafés on the premises is planned. A special highlight will certainly be the terraces with lounge character ... the perfect setting for extraordinarily different summer parties of the future.

Robert Zwinz, Managing Director and Jürgen Kahl, Unit Manager of Airest Gastronomy & Retail GmbH: "We have reached our goal of co-shaping the future of Graz Airport. With the restaurant, the two cafés, the event catering service – especially in combination with the event and conference centre – and the catering for the VIP lounge, the Airport offers a lot of room for further creative development."

Despite its somewhat remote location, Airest is enormously popular in the region as can currently be seen by the many bookings for Christmas parties. While 34 Christmas parties with 3,600 guests were held at the Airest restaurant last year, this has risen to 40 parties with nearly 4000 guests this winter.

Wolfgang Malik, Chairman of the Board of Holding Graz and Gerhard Widmann, CEO of Flughafen Graz Betriebs GmbH: "Airest has been an important and reliable partner of ours for many years. We have implemented many new developments at Graz Airport together since the expansion of the terminal in 2005. We are delighted that this mutually beneficial partnership is to continue."
