Graz Airport: More Berlin with airberlin
Daily flights from Monday to Friday plus a Sunday flight are meeting the needs of business travellers and tourists.
Feldkirchen bei Graz, 12 October 2012: airberlin is to expand its Graz Berlin links from 6 May 2013. Non-stop daily flights will be offered Mondays to Fridays and on Sundays, representing a flight frequency increase of 20%.
The improved links to Berlin will mean airberlin's hub structure can be put to even better use in future. Up to 40% more flight connections, in particular within Germany and to Scandinavia and Eastern Europe will be possible and Abu Dhabi will also be offered.
These links will be activated successively over the next few days.
“Six flights a week from Graz to Berlin and back, every day from Monday to Friday represent an important milestone, above all for business travellers”, Holding Graz Chairman Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Malik and Mag. Gerhard Widmann, CEO of Graz Airport said. “The Sunday evening flight is a perfect addition to this. The increase in flight frequency is a very important step in our strategy of offering more flights to important hub airports and to cities with an economic metropolis status”.
“By optimising the Graz to Berlin links we are meeting the needs and wishes of our passengers. It is above all business travellers who will be pleased, since we are able to provide them with a link that fits in perfectly with their needs. Graz is very well connected to our Berlin hub and has a gateway to the world as a result. airberlin passengers flying from Graz now will have a direct link onwards from Berlin to the northern European centres of Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen, for example. In the direction of Eastern Europe we can also offer direct onward connections from Berlin to Moscow and Gdansk”, Stefan Magiera, airberlin Vice President Corporate Sales Germany, Austria, Switzerland said.
The director of Styrian Tourism Georg Bliem commented on the new links: “We are very pleased indeed that Graz will be “linked” with six flights a week to Berlin from next spring. This opens up an important connection not only for the city of Graz, but also for the province of Styria. Styria has seen a powerful growth in bookings of visitors from Germany and we assume that the air link will be a further factor for us to offer more special offers and provisions for the German market in future concentrating on Berlin.”
In addition to Berlin, Palma de Mallorca with NIKI will of course, also be on the flight programme again next summer, with up to 6 links a week (Monday to Friday and Sundays), and these can already be booked.
